Wake up, thou iMac!
Need to run AppleScripts at odd times or like iTunes to be your wake-up device? You might want to look at iBeeZz to "simply schedule your Mac": set up when your Mac sleeps, wakes up, shuts down, starts up, restarts, (well, you get the idea).
Looks pretty great! One of our list-members, Warren, had this to say (reprinted with permission):
If you want to have any number of scheduled events (system startup, wakeup, sleep, shutdown, run applications and applescripts) take place on your Mac at any time, even while you are elsewhere, then you should get a really nifty little shareware utility called iBeeZz. iBeeZz installs on the top right side of the screen in the menu bar. I have found that with purpose-built applescripts for Firefox, iBeeZz can be especially useful for capturing time-dependent data while I am gone for a day or longer. You could schedule your Mac to startup at particular times on selected days of the week, run the updates, then shutdown again, with no need for the Mac to be running at other times. It's a treat. :-))
