Mac, photography classes in Boise, Nampa area

Our own Mark Winchester, who's presented on various topics several times for our group over the years, has mentioned that he has some upcoming classes - some focus on learning the Mac system and others are on digital photography. Here's the info: Which digital camera for me? This class will help you match your interests and priorities with a camera that will serve them. I’ll help you understand the geek speak that often is confusing, and focus on the details that matter. This class will be very visually oriented – so you can see what we’re talking about, not just hear about it. December 16, 7-9pm, $28 per person Taming Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) This class will help you understand how to use Mac OS 10.5. We will explore how to save and organize files, add a printer, burn a CD or DVD, and make a PDF. Many time -saving features and short-cuts will be uncovered to help you get the most from your Apple computer. January 20, 7-9pm, $28 per person Got pictures? Now what? Digital cameras allow us to take many pictures with ease. This workshop will help you store, organize and back-up your images. We will learn how to share pictures using email, online galleries, and as prints. Lastly, we'll investigate some basic color correction and editing options. February 10, 7-9pm, $28 per person Photoshop/Photoshop Elements basics This class will help you use the key tools and features in this powerful image editing software. I'll suggest a game plan you can use with each image that provides many options, or as few as you desire. Throughout the class I will share tips and short-cuts designed to save you time. March 10, 7-9pm, $28 per person Discovering Apple’s iLife Discover the simplicity of using iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, and iDVD for working with your pictures, music, and home movies. Saving and sharing family memories, creating your own favorites audio/mp3 CDs, or even your own movie DVDs are among the tasks made easy with Apple’s iLife applications. March 24, 7-9pm, $28 per person Photoshop CSx: The Mask You will leave this class understanding the power from using masks for color and layer editing. You will see time-saving tips for creating and modifying selections and working with multiple pixel layers. I will help you look for and create the details that separate good images from great images. April 14, 7-9pm, $38 per person
