Battery for Maeve

This is a post brought over from Emma's Friends, a now retired Mac blog. Originally published 04/19/2008. Author CF. Learned of this resource for Mac parts and upgrades at last night's MUG meeting. From this thread I learn that Maeve is an "Onyx" Ti book (550MHz) and so the battery I would get her would either be this one ($79.95) or this one ($119.95) -- Except for 200 difference in the mAh I don't know what distinguishes them. Apparently it is "very easy" to do, though they don't list "replace battery" on their instructions page. Hmm. Perhaps because it's so simple (as viewed in this lovely PDF from PowerBookMedic.com).
Turn the computer over with the bottom up as shown. Push the battery latch to the right as shown. The battery will then “pop” up and you will be able to remove it from the laptop as shown in the second picture.
Double-hmmm. Powerbookmedic.com has batteries, too. 5200 mAh for $94.95. Ah, but she'll never know the excitement of Leopard. Perhaps it's enough that she's gamboling with Tiger.
