A local school district is looking for judges to line up for an April event. You don't need to travel there (Mountain Home) to judge.

The Mountain Home School District is pleased to announce our first Film Festival. Like other festivals put on throughout the state, this is chance for student’s to exhibit their work as well as compete for prizes. The winning films will be hand picked by local filmmakers from the Treasure Valley. Students at both the high school and junior high can submit films in at least 5 different categories ranging from best Comedy to best Commercial. All high school and junior high students are eligible. To submit a film, students need to complete an application form (available from Mr. Earl at the junior high or Mr. Root at the High school) and submit it with their completed project. Submissions are due by April 3rd 2009. The festival date is yet to be announced. Prizes will be awarded for the top films in each category. There will be a $10 fee for each submission, which includes 2 tickets to the festival showing. Additional tickets will be available for a nominal fee on the date of the festival.  Categories include: Best Comedy (3-10 minutes) Best Drama (3-10 minutes) Best Movie Trailer/ Commercial (3 minutes or less) Best Sports film/ Documentary (3-10 minutes) Best Animation/ Claymation (2-5 minutes)  Students interested in making a film but need help with editing their project can get help from Mr. Earl at the junior high. They meet each Wednesday after school from 3:00-4:00pm in room #119.
